So....
We did have a successful exhibition at the Edinburgh Meadows Festival on the 3rd and 4th of June. This exhibition was organised my myself, my partner John Cheetham and Natasha Russel (both their websites can be found on my website Jackal Leg). It was allot of work, but as with most exhibitions, worth it in the end. We spoke to many different people about our work and it was interesting to discover which pieces they felt most drawn too. Often the one's I never expected to receive interest....typical!

All in all we had about thirty five contributing artists and over a hundred pieces of work displayed. The set up definitely threw a few curve balls at us. The biggest of which was that we discovered the night before the initial set up that we could not keep the work in the marquee over night, when we had been led to believe we could. As such we had to hang it in the morning (stupidly early), take it down at night, then re-hang it again for the second day. It was quite simply, knackering! I'd like to avoid doing that again in the future where possible!
A valuable lesson in 'what not to display around children' was also learned. We discovered that certain sculptures in children's eyes just represent one big toy. And that children's parents will happily sit back and let their children pick up and pull apart sculptures. So for the future all sculpture displayed where children are will have to be bolted to the ground and electrified.
All in all it was an instructive and useful venture!
